Barcelona, September 16, 2024 – MediaMarkt, the leading omnichannel consumer electronics and related services retailer, announces a new partnership with ROR, an expert in logistics and transport solutions. Through this collaboration, ROR will provide MediaMarkt with a specialized transport solution for national distribution flows that uses HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) biodiesel.

This alliance includes the deployment of a megatrailer (EMS-60) for road transport, which not only runs on HVO biofuel but also has the capacity to carry up to 58% more cargo per trip compared to a standard truck. This increased capacity will reduce the number of trips required and significantly lower the carbon footprint per transported unit.

The HVO biodiesel used by ROR stands out as an immediate solution for the decarbonization of road transport. Over its lifecycle, it can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90% compared to traditional fossil fuels. As a result, MediaMarkt and ROR will reduce CO2 emissions by up to 243 tons per year and remove 91 trucks from the roads with the implementation of the megatrailer.
